Rest and relaxation looks different depending on seasons – not just in the year but also in our lives. Sometimes it looks like a walk on the beach; sometimes it looks like winter trees. Why? Because we all know leaves have to fall, trees lie dormant, but growth is occurring under the surface. Spring will eventually come. Rebirth will occur. Hope will yield to new beginnings. That’s what a New Year looks like. What does your new year look like?
You don’t have to do New Year’s Resolutions – those can be overwhelming. But you can ask yourself these four questions.
Step 1: Set a timer for only 5 minutes (took me only 4) and then jot on paper or in your notes section of your phone. Don’t make this a big deal so you don’t do it.
Step 2: Answer these questions:
- What did I learn in 2020?
- What do I want to keep doing?
- What am I ready to let go of?
- What do I really want?
We have a new year to do new things – a new beginning. Sometimes we know what we want, but we don’t know how to get there. If you’d like help in breaking down your wants into actionable steps, let me know. I’d love to help. That’s what health and wellness coaches do. Contact me here.
