Do you love apple pie or apple cobbler? Need a gluten-free and dairy-free dessert for Thanksgiving? This is an easy and scrumptious gluten-free and dairy-free apple crumble that even my family and friends who are not eating gluten-free enjoy!
Ingredients:
5 apples (use a combination of red and green), peel and slice thinly
2 – 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tablespoons honey or pure maple syrup or coconut sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
1 ½ cups almond flour, gluten-free flour blend, or cassava flour
¼ cup of honey or pure maple syrup or coconut sugar
¼ cup of coconut oil or ghee
1 – 2 teaspoons cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
Coconut oil or Avocado oil spray (to grease baking dish)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the apples, lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl. Put mixture into a greased casserole dish (grease with coconut oil or use coconut / avocado oil spray). In another bowl mix remaining ingredients and pour over apple mixture. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking until topping is golden brown and apples fork tender (about 20 – 30 minutes or so).
Top with coconut whipped topping or dairy-free ice cream.
