Is There a One-Size-Fits-All Diet?

Keto? Paleo? Vegan? Pescatarian? Raw food? What do all these have in common?  Well, you probably already know.  These are all types of diets people have pushed to the forefront of the diet world or healthy eating world.  But did you know that not every diet will work best for every person? Yep, that’s right. Just as we all have certain lifestyle choices such as different times we go to sleep, where we work, What type of exercise we prefer, if we’re married or not, if we have children and the number of them, we all have certain types of food that work best for our own body.  It’s called bio-individuality.  Basically, it just means that certain foods might be helpful for your body whereas my body cannot tolerate those foods and vice-versa.  One person’s food is another person’s poison.  But this is good news because we can try various foods and see if they work for our own body.  After you eat a food, ask yourself these questions: How did it make me feel?  Do I have any symptoms such as headache, gas, bloating, fatigue, nausea, joint pain, or achiness?  Remember these points: symptoms could occur within 3 days of eating that particular food. Also those symptoms need to occur on 3 different occasions after you ate that food.  Also ask yourself this question: Do I feel more energized, satisfied, but not overly full? These are some of the questions to help you determine the right foods for your body. There is not a one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and diet.  But with some investigation and tweaking, most people can figure out which foods are best for them to eat, which foods actually nurture their health.
